Anthony “Tony” Klok was elected to the Best Western Board of Directors in 2013 to represent the interests of hotel owners in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ontario and Wisconsin.
Mr. Klok has more than 15 years experience in the hotel industry and as a Best Western member. He previously served as a governor for the brand as well as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee, including serving as chairman, and a member of the Global Marketing Group.
Mr. Klok has an ownership interest in four hotels, including the BEST WESTERN PLUS Hawthorne Terrace in Chicago, Ill. He is a principal in the Neighborhood Development Corp. which has managed and developed numerous hotel and multi-unit housing projects.
In addition to this work, Mr. Klok is an executive board member of the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association. He was appointed by the mayor of Chicago to serve as a commissioner in 1989, a position he still holds. He also serves on the DePaul University School of Hospitality Advisory Board and the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Klok is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and now lives in Lake Geneva, Wis.
