Ron Pohl is vice president, Brand Management & Member Services for Best Western International, THE WORLD’S LARGEST HOTEL CHAIN®. He serves on the executive committee and is the leader of Best Western’s Brand Management Team. Pohl oversees a number of key departments within the hotel chain including customer care, member care, education and training and international quality assurance.
Before being named vice president of Brand Management & Member Services, Pohl served as Best Western’s vice president of Operations. In that role, the 25-year hospitality industry veteran dramatically improved the customer care department by implementing the Best Western I Care program and a uniform survey system for Best Western properties, thereby increasing overall customer satisfaction scores for the chain.
Prior to joining Best Western, Pohl spent more than 20 years with Boykin Management Company, a respected hotel management firm based in Cleveland. During his tenure, he served in a number of senior-level positions in the areas of operations, marketing, sales and revenue management. He also had operational responsibility for ten hotels.
Pohl's diverse hotel background comes from working with an array of top brands, including Choice, Hilton, Marriott and Radisson, and independent resorts and condo hotels. He served on the board of directors for the Convention & Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland, as well as advisory committees for Marriott and Doubletree hotels. Pohl has 10 years of General Manager experience with full-service hotels and over the course of his career, he has received awards for sales leadership, Web-site development and outstanding customer service.
Pohl earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Akron and holds Certified Hotel Administrator and Certified Rooms Director designations.
