P.G. West

Vice Chairman
 
P.G. West, CHA, began his three-year term on the Best Western Board of Directors in October 2007 and currently serves as vice chairman. He represents the interests of Best Western hoteliers in the company's District I region, which includes Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

Before being elected to the Board of Directors, West held other leadership positions within Best Western. From 1993 to 2007, he represented hoteliers in the Four Corners region of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico as a governor for District I. He has also taken a leadership role in Best Western committees, including chairing the Brand Identity Advisory Committee, E-Commerce Committee and the Colorado Co-op.

West and his wife, Linda, have owned and operated the Best Western Turquoise Inn and Suites in Cortez, Colo., since 1980. Their hard work has helped the property become a top performer in the Best Western system, winning multiple awards for outstanding quality and customer service.

West takes a personal interest in his business and his community. He was elected to the Cortez City Council in 1986 and re-elected in 1988, serving as the city's mayor pro tem until 1992. He has served as chairman of the Mesa Verde Country Visitors Bureau for more than 20 years, helping promote tourism in the Four Corners region.

A Colorado native, West attended the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo where he majored in business. West and his wife live in Cortez, Colo. They have a daughter, Gina, and granddaughter, Abbi. He enjoys classic cars and has held a private pilot’s license since 1975.
