Roman J. Jaworowicz

Board Director

Roman J. Jaworowicz, CHA, has been a passionate and dedicated Best Western member since 1985 and is the first Canadian hotelier to serve on the board of directors. A native of Buffalo, N.Y., he is the owner of the Best Western Campbellsville Inn in Campbellsville, Ky., and the award-winning Best Western Highland Inn and Conference Centre in Midland, Ontario. He began his first three-year board term in December 2003.

Jaworowicz credits his own success to Best Western’s unique membership model, which allows hoteliers to go above and beyond brand standards to compete most effectively in their local markets. In the last five years, his multi-million dollar investment in his Ontario property has secured the Best Western Highland Inn’s position as the region’s top-performing hotel.

Jaworowicz represents Best Western hotel members in Ontario, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. Before joining the board, he played a number of leadership roles at Best Western, including governor of District III, president of the Global Marketing Coop and chairman of the Ontario / Quebec coop.

Active in local, provincial and international tourism and commerce, Jaworowicz was a founding member of the Midland Penetanguishene Tourism Consortium, an active member of the Midland Chamber of Commerce and has served on many boards in Ontario. He is a member of the Campbellsville University President’s Club and the Campbellsville Chamber of Commerce in Kentucky. Jaworowicz is a frequent speaker at hospitality industry and Chamber of Commerce events and forums.

Jaworowicz is a Certified Hotel Administrator, a certified Dale Carnegie instructor and a two-time Best Western INNfluence Award recipient for both Worldwide Communications and Community Affairs. Jaworowicz has received a number of awards for his leadership, including Business Person of the Year and the first-ever Ambassador’s Award for his work in tourism development in Ontario.

Jaworowicz graduated with honors with a teaching certificate and a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and administration from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo., where he also earned First Team All Conference and All District NAIA football recognition. He was recently added to his high school wall of fame for his athletic achievements.
