Beth Campbell, a 30-year veteran of the tourism industry, began her three-year term on the Best Western Board of Directors in November 2008. She is currently serving as its secretary/treasurer. As Board director, Campbell represents the interests of Best Western owners in the brand’s District II, which includes the northwestern United States, Alaska and Canada’s western provinces.
Before being elected to its Board of Directors, Campbell had a distinguished career with Best Western. She chaired the brand’s Marketing Advisory Committee and served as a governor for 15 years, representing hotel owners in southeastern British Columbia
For the past 30 years, Campbell has owned and operated the Best Western Inn at Penticton, a three-diamond resort-style property in Penticton, B.C.
Campbell has a strong background in municipal and provincial government. She spent nearly 15 years as mayor and city council member for the city of Penticton. Campbell recently served as vice chairwoman of the Provincial Capital Commission and spent five years as vice chairwoman of Tourism British Columbia, the organization responsible for marketing the Super, Natural British Columbia® brand to the world.
Campbell currently sits on the board of FortisBC, an electric utility based in Kelowna, B.C.
Also active in her local tourism industry, Campbell is director of the Penticton Tourism Advisory Committee. She is past president of Penticton’s chamber of commerce and its hotel association.
