 For Houston attractions the Space Center Houston is truly one-of-a-kind. Here you can discover a world that only exists outside of the atmosphere. Step inside the flight simulator and get an idea of what it is like to propel from earth into space in only a matter of minutes. The center also houses an Astronaut Gallery and the Mission Status Exhibit. One of the most popular Houston attractions however, is the NASA Tram Tour, which gives visitors an inside look at the behind the scenes work at NASA. Look in on the action as they communicate with astronauts from the Johnson Space Center and if you're lucky, watch as future astronauts train for missions aboard spacecrafts. If you enjoy space travel, this is a must see stop for you.
For those of you searching for a great thrill, Houston has exactly what you are looking for. Six Flags Astroworld is one of Houston's best theme parks and the screams can be heard from miles away. With 33 thrilling rides that will take your breath away, this is definitely the best place to get your shouting fix. Along with roller-coasters and more thrill rides, the park also has a massive waterpark named WaterWorld. Plan to spend an entire afternoon at this park because it's one of the largest in the country.
In the middle of Houston's Downtown Theater District lies a haven for shoppers with all tastes. Bayou Place houses many of the finest restaurants, shops, theaters, and resting places in Texas and especially the Houston area. This huge entertainment presence is a favorite of locals and tourists alike and is a great place to see what Houston is all about. It is also a great place to pick up some souvenirs to take a piece of the city home with you. There is no cost to get in, and will take a few hours to walk through and discover everything. If you have some time in between tourist stops, this is a great place to spend some time and visit with some locals or maybe catch a movie.
 One of the best things to see in Houston is the Downtown Aquarium, located near the Theater District. Visitors are invited to eat, drink, and play in this fun for the whole family aquatic center. For starters, this massive aquarium features 500,000 gallons of visible tanks and over 200 species of marine life. Rather than just look at the creatures why not take a ride on Shark Voyage? Here, visitors are driven through a glass cage from floor to ceiling with water on the other side filled with dangerous sharks! For some of the most beautiful views in town, climb onto the Diving Bell Ferris wheel that soars 100 feet into the air. After walking and riding your way through the aquarium, grab a bite to eat at one of the on site restaurants and enjoy people watching, for there are sure to be plenty of them around.
