Las Vegas, Nevada Area Travel Information

One of many gaming tables in Las Vegas, Nevada - Photo Courtesy Las Vegas News Bureau/LVCVALas Vegas is a popular vacation destination for millions of visitors each year with something to do for everyone. From riding a gondola through the canals of Venice to screaming on a rollercoaster as it careens by New York skyscrapers. For those wanting less adventure, they can visit with many of their favorite celebrities at a wax museum, or gamble in the hopes of hitting a jackpot, or take in one of the nightly shows this great city has to offer. Las Vegas provides its visitors with a plethora of entertainment choices and we've highlighted a few.

Visitors ride the Manhattan Express at New York, New York Casino - Photo Courtesy - The Las Vegas News Bureau/LVCVAIf you're in the mood for a thrilling ride, consider one of many Las Vegas vacation attractions along the world famous Las Vegas Strip. New York, New York Hotel and Casino offers one of the most unique roller coaster rides in the country. Winding and turning through the replica of the New York City skyline, pass by the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and of course, the Empire State Building, The Manhattan Express is a thrill of a lifetime. This exciting ride can reach speeds of 67 miles an hour and will send you into a 540-degree spiral.

Another thrilling ride is located a bit further down the main strip in Las Vegas. The Stratosphere is host to a couple of the most extreme rides in the world. The Big Shot, located on the roof of the eighth tallest building in the world, takes you from the bottom of the large needle to the top in just over two seconds! Though this may not seem like much, know that the needle is 160 feet tall and passengers feel the force of four G's. Astronauts feel only 3.2 G's at liftoff! For the ultimate thrill ride however, venture across the roof to the X Scream thrill ride. Those of you who view yourself as a risk taker may find yourself rethinking things when faced with this ride. An arm stretches 27 feet off the edge, and there is nothing at the end of it except a rounded off edge. Hop onto the eight passenger, open seating rail car and speed toward the edge at 30 MPH. Just when it feels like you're done for, an advanced hydraulics system stops the car just inches before you plummet to the ground below!

For starters, visit the Venetian Hotel and Casino for a romantic Gondola ride through the streets of Venice, Italy. A personal guide rows you through the grand canals and shops as you take in a breathtaking view of the city and the blue sky above. Another ideal romantic spot to visit on your trip to Las Vegas, is right across the street. The beautiful fountains of the Bellagio are one of the most popular Las Vegas attractions. Set to a composition of classical songs; this show is definitely one of the most romantic in town.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas gives you the opportunity to do things that will make people talk, with the pictures to prove it. Cirque Du Soleil is a "circus" that is arguably, the most amazing show on earth, and is featured, via various shows, throughout Vegas. "KA" at the MGM Grand is the newest show from the Cirque Company.
