To get here, guests must take a short ferry ride through the bay. Once there, guests can watch videos on the history of Alcatraz prison and tour the cell blocks. After you've served your time in Alcatraz, why not top it off with something besides bread and water?
 World renowned for its fine sea food, San Francisco's Fishermen's Wharf is arguably the best place to find locals and tourists mixing together as they dine on the Wharf's various offerings of seafood. Restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf serve such fare as clam chowder, Dungeness crab, and Halibut. We recommend getting out to Fisherman's Wharf early and seeing the fishermen hard at work. This area of town is very family friendly and is host to some of the world's best sourdough bread, which is baked fresh daily in most restaurants. For those of you looking for something a little sweeter, the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory is also located near the Wharf. Ghirardelli lets visitors sift through their factory and see the process that goes into making fine chocolates. After dining on the great food that the Wharf provides, visitors can spend a relaxing night at one of the many San Francisco downtown hotels in the Best Western chain.
