Wall, SD was given its name from the "Wall" standing between the upper prairie flats and the grassy hills. It is a rugged tip of tinted spires, ridges, and twisted gullies that ranges from a half mile to three miles wide and is over nine miles long. Bear Country USA - Nestled over 250 acres of towering pines eight miles south of Rapid City, Bear Country U.S.A. offers an up close and personal view of several North American mammals. Visitors enjoy a leisurely three-mile drive and encounter black bear, elk, reindeer, deer, cougars, bobcats, rocky mountain goats, bighorn sheep, dall sheep and buffalo along the way.
