David Velasquez is vice president of Information Systems Operations for Best Western International. As VP of IS Operations, his responsibilities include Best Western’s computer operations center, IS service desk operations, network and telecommunications, information security, engineering, and architecture. His focus is on managing and delivering high-performing and reliable technology solutions to Best Western Members and the brand.
Velasquez first joined Best Western in 2007 as Managing Director of Information Systems Operations. In that capacity he was responsible for Best Western’s IS infrastructure engineering teams and Best Western’s data center.
In 2008, he was given leadership of Best Western’s technical support and service management teams. Under his guidance in this role, Best Western was able to develop a more responsive service management process, and to deploy tools that more effectively serviced Members and corporate staff.
Passionate about technology, Velasquez is a 20-year IT veteran, with 15 years of experience in the hospitality sector. Prior to joining Best Western, he was with Cendant Corporation for 12 years where, in positions of increasing scope and responsibility, he oversaw the company’s telecommunications network, service desk and systems. Before joining Cendant, he began his IT career with Microage Corporation, focused on automation and systems integration.
