Julie Montmaneix is a second-generation Best Western hotel owner and operator. Montmaneix was elected to the Board in November 2009, and reelected in 2012, to represent the interests of hotel owners in California, Nevada and Hawaii. She previously served one-year terms as chairman and vice chairman.
The California native grew up in the hotel industry helping out at her family’s Best Western in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. Today, she owns and operates the BEST WESTERN Corona in Corona, Calif.
Before being elected to the Board of Directors, Montmaneix held a number of leadership positions for Best Western. She served as a brand governor and representative on the brand’s education, training and cultural diversity committees, and chaired the education and training committee.
Montmaneix brings a global perspective to her role as board director. She lived in Europe for 15 years, where she held a number of positions in marketing and strategic planning and served as a board officer for the International American Woman’s Club of Geneva, Switzerland. She was also part of an advanced team that created the first purchasing roundtable discussions for European senior purchasing executives and developed an MBA degree program with an emphasis on purchasing at the European Institute of Purchasing Management in Archamps, France.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public affairs from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts degree in business and marketing from Webster University in Geneva.
