This stretch is the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, a mile-deep river canyon of cliffs and more than a hundred waterfalls, cared for by the U.S. Forest Service, with the Bridge of the Gods and the Pacific Crest Trail crossing the river right at the town. A replica sternwheeler runs cruises from the locks below.
