Just off Interstate 10 halfway between San Antonio and El Paso, the Best Western Dos Rios sits where two rivers meet in Junction, Texas, in the heart of the Hill Country.

A free full hot breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and omelets sets the foundation for a day on the water or out on the road. The town is named for the meeting of the North and South Llano rivers, an outdoor lover's paradise of swimming, kayaking and fishing.

South Llano River State Park, cared for by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, spreads along the spring-fed river just south of town, with tubing, fly fishing for the state fish, miles of trails and some of the darkest stargazing skies in Texas at a designated dark-sky park.
