Throughout the years, the facility expanded to become Hendrick Motorsports Complex. The complex encompasses 140 acres in a 430,000 square foot building, and employs over five hundred employees. The original shop remains on-site.
The complex features engine and chassis-building areas large enough to support four full-time Chevrolet teams in the Sprint Cup Series of NASCAR. This impressive facility is located northeast of Charlotte, one mile from the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Home to some of the NHRA’s biggest names, Gray Motorsports is the headquarters to Cagnazzi racing in Mooresville – just outside of Charlotte and Huntersville. The headquarters has helped give way to well over 35 NHRA race wins and multiple NHRA Pro Stock Championships.

Located in Huntersville in North Carolina’s Piedmont region, Joe Gibbs Racing shop is the headquarters for some of NASCAR’s biggest names. The Joe Gibbs race shop has helped produce multiple NASCAR Sprint Cup championships since their inauguration in the year 2000. Fans revel in visiting the headquarters and exploring the viewing area and the gift shop – both are open Monday through Friday.
Located in the town of Mooresville, the JR Motorsports facility is fan-favorite and must-see for race fans in the Piedmont region. JR Motorsports can be found just north of Charlotte, where shop tours are given Thursdays and Fridays each week.
The 66,000 square foot facility has helped produce numerous Nationwide Series wins and acts as the headquarters for one of NASCAR’s most famed drivers, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt merchandise and souvenirs can be found at JR Nation, the on-site retail store exclusive to Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Just north of Huntersville in the town of Cornelius, the Michael Waltrip Racing facility is open to the public for viewing Monday through Friday. During a MWR tour, race fans are treated to an actual viewing of racecar fabrication and assembly via up-close views on the shop’s catwalks.
Highlights of the tour consists of Machine Shops I and II, the Paint Booth, and Final Assembly. Moreover, tour-takers can view the Hauler Bay and Pit Practice Arena – the latter being where pit crews train and prepare for race day.
Located in the Piedmont region, otherwise known as the epicenter of motorsports, the Penske Racing headquarters is a state-of-the-art racecar engineering facility in Mooresville. Aside from the typical race fan gift shop, the Penske Racing facility also lets fans traverse a 432-foot fan walk found above the garage floor.
NASCAR memorabilia and souvenirs are found along the 1,000 feet of graphics displaying the facility’s history in the halls. The facility, located just north of Huntersville, has helped give way to over 20 national championships for Team Penske since the mid 1900s.
Located in Kannapolis in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, the Stewart-Haas Racing facility is the headquarters of the some of the biggest names in NASCAR. Race fans enjoy visiting the 140,000 square foot facility and catching a first-hand glimpse of how a NASCAR Spring Cut Series championship winning team operates.
Tours of the facility can be arranged, where guest view cars, parts, and actual NASCAR engine building machinery. The SHR store features plenty of SHR merchandise and even officially licensed SHR car parts.
Located in the town of Statesville, the Front Row Motorsports facility acts as the headquarters to some of NASCAR’s biggest and brightest stars. The Front Row Motorsports team has competed in the Nationwide Series at tracks like Talladega Superspeedway, Daytona, and Lowes Motor Speedway.

Located in Mooresville – just north of Charlotte – Kyle Busch Inc. is a 77,000 square foot facility acting as the headquarters for some of the biggest names in NASCAR. Kyle Busch Inc. has helped produce multiple NASCAR Camping World Struck Series championships.
Race fans can visit the Kyle Busch shop Monday through Friday and view the interworking of the Kyle Busch Toyota truck team. The high-tech, environmentally friendly facility houses a 2,000 square foot gift shop as well.
