Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum
When traveling to OKC, take time to plan a visit to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. This three-acre remembrance site is comprised of the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial and Memorial Museum. Located in downtown Oklahoma City, the site memorializes the lives lost and those who survived the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. Stroll through the museum and learn about the events that led up to the tragic bombing, and what transpired after by viewing artifacts, photos, and powerful films about the attack. Walk the grounds for look at the Gallery of Honor, photos of the 168 lives taken in the attack, and The Origami Cranes, which symbolize the hope from people around the world. The adjacent reflecting pool, Field of Empty Chairs and Survivor Tree are particularly moving to witness and stand as a symbol of Oklahoma City’s strength and continued resilience.
