Rajesh Patel 

Rajesh (Raj) Patel was elected to the BWHSM Hotels Board of Directors in 2022 to represent the interests of hotel owners in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

A seasoned hospitality veteran, Mr. Patel has approximately 30 years of industry experience. He currently serves as Owner, President and CEO of Apsilon Hotels, a premier hotel management company that owns and operates fourteen hotels across brands. The company portfolio includes two BWH Hotels properties: the Best Western® Plus Atlanta Airport-East and the Best Western Plus Fairburn-Atlanta Southwest.

During his nearly thirty-year tenure with BWH Hotels, Mr. Patel has held multiple leadership roles. These roles include serving as a Governor – a liaison between the brand and its hoteliers – and serving on various hotel advisory committees such as the Membership Development Advisory Committee, the ResTech Advisory Committee, and the Governors Quality Assurance Committee. While serving in these key leadership positions, Mr. Patel has provided strategic input as it relates to attracting and retaining high quality properties, growing BWH Hotels' scale throughout North America, enhancing the profitability of the brand and its hoteliers, and advancing vital technology initiatives.

Mr. Patel is actively involved in local industry and business efforts in his home state of Georgia and has served on various industry committees.  

Additionally, he is passionate about giving back to his local community and has held key leadership positions within the Shree Shakti Mandir Temple, including serving as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for seven years. During his tenure as Chairman, Mr. Patel oversaw an extensive renovation of the temple. Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Patel graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in biology. He was the recipient of the 2021 Best Western Chairman’s Legacy Award for his significant contributions to the brand. Mr. Patel lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and two sons, who are actively involved in the family hotel business.
