PHOENIX (August 3, 2015) – Best Western International announced today that it received a COLLOQUY Recognizes award for its exciting partnership with Disney Channel for the summer 2014 promotion. COLLOQUY Recognizes is a program that honors companies for forward-thinking strategies in loyalty marketing. To help Best Western Rewards® stand out among hotel industry loyalty programs, engage guests at the property, and offer even more rewards for its members, Best Western took a unique approach by strategically partnering with Disney Media as they readied the summer launch of the Disney Channel Original Movie, Zapped.

The partnership consisted of the “Get Zapped with Zendaya Zweepstakes,” which offered guests a chance to win Best Western gift cards to use on their hotel stays, as well as a grand prize of a trip to Los Angeles to meet Zendaya, star of Disney Channel Original Movie, Zapped, in person. Best Western and Disney Media took a multichannel approach to promote the sweepstakes, leveraging the traditional mediums of television and radio, and through digital with social media, digital banner advertising, email, targeted direct response offers, and dedicated landing pages. Finally, every Best Western property promoted the sweepstakes using in-room and front desk marketing collateral, including innovative augmented reality standees displayed prominently at the property. The four foot standees could be “activated” by downloading an interactive app on a mobile device, then pointing its camera at the standee, giving guests an opportunity to virtually interact and take photos “with” the star, Zendaya.
