PHOENIX (June 23, 2015) – Best Western International, Inc., THE WORLD’S BIGGEST HOTEL FAMILY®, is once again teaming up with Disney Channel to offer guests a virtual interaction with the stars of "Teen Beach 2," the highly anticipated surf and song sequel to "Teen Beach Movie." Now through September 1, 2015, guests will be greeted by a life-size display of Disney Channel stars Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell at Best Western’s more than 2,220 North American hotels.
Along with the virtual experience, one lucky fan will have the chance to meet the stars in person as part of Best Western and Disney Channel’s Teen Beach 2 Sunsational Dance Party Sweepstakes, which runs through Sept. 1, 2015. The grand prize winner and three guests will be invited to attend an exclusive beach party hosted by Disney Channel in Los Angeles, where they will meet Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell.
“Disney Channel’s 'Teen Beach 2' represents all that’s good about summertime,” said Dorothy Dowling, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Best Western International. “Best Western wants our guests to feel that same way about staying with us and we hope the sweepstakes and virtual reality experience help create the ultimate family summer vacation.”
To interact with the life-size display, guests can simply download the free Best Western ALIVE! app, available through the iTunes App Store or Google Play, to bring the display to life and snap a photo with Lynch and Mitchell. The virtual images can then be shared with friends and family via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
More details on the sweepstakes are available for residents in the U.S. at disneychannel.com/beach and family.ca/beach for residents in Canada.
About Best Western ALIVE!
The Best Western ALIVE! app was created through a partnership with HP Aurasma, the world’s leading augmented reality platform, and represents one of the hottest offerings in consumer digital innovation. Using the camera function on iPhone and Android devices, the Best Western ALIVE! app superimposes graphics and video over the camera’s real-time view, allowing users to engage in a virtual reality experience with Disney Channel stars.
The latest version features actors from Disney Channel’s Original Movie “Teen Beach 2” and is a continuation of Best Western’s successful 2014 campaign that brought Zendaya, star of “Zapped,” to life in lobbies across the United States and Canada. Best Western first partnered with HP Aurasma in 2013 as part of its partnership with Disney Channel to promote “Teen Beach Movie.”
