A Record-Breaking Number of BW® Properties Receive TripAdvisor® Certificates of Excellence
PHOENIX (May 24, 2018) – Best Western Hotels & Resorts announced today that an outstanding 1,974 Best Western-branded hotels globally received the 2018 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence recognition, breaking the brand’s record high for guest satisfaction yet again. The prestigious Certificate of Excellence celebrates businesses that have consistently achieved great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, restaurants and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.
The company has continued to see an increase in the number of Best Western-branded hotels receiving this honor for eight consecutive years, but this year, the brand has achieved its most impressive results to date.
The number of Best Western hotels that have received the recognition has increased by 53 percent since 2013. Of the 1,974 hotels globally that have received this Certificate of Excellence, a record high, 1,353 are in North America, which includes 1,201 in the U.S. and 152 in Canada. Overall, 66 percent of the brand’s North American hotels have received this honor, and 45 percent of this year’s recipients have achieved the recognition three years in a row.

The Certificate of Excellence takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
