General Terms
- The Best Western Gift Card® is referred to herein, individually, as the “Gift Card” or, collectively, as “Gift Cards” and formerly as “Travel Card”.
- Best Western International, Inc. is referred to herein as “we,” “us,” “our,” or “Best Western.”
- The Best Western Gift Card is a prepaid card, not a credit card or debit card.
- Best Western Gift Cards are issued in the form of a physical plastic card, electronic card, or in some circumstances and in some locations, a digital printable format.
- Guests must have the plastic, electronic, or digital printable format of the Best Western Gift Card in their possession to receive the value of the Gift Card.
- Best Western Gift Cards purchased for the face value carry no expiration date.
- In limited circumstances, Best Western Gift Cards provided as promotional awards or otherwise for promotional purposes may contain an expiration date.
- Best Western Gift Cards carry no value until activated. Best Western Gift Cards are not returnable, refundable or redeemable for cash, and may not be resold or transferred for value, except to the extent required by law. Lost, stolen, or damaged Best Western Gift Cards will not be canceled or replaced without card number and proof of purchase. Unlawful resale or attempted resale is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation.
- Except where prohibited by law, Best Western reserves the right to refuse, deactivate, cancel, reject, or hold for review any Best Western Gift Card mistakenly issued in an incorrect denomination or issued or procured, directly or indirectly, in connection with fraudulent actions or in connection with any violation of these terms and conditions.
- No individual or entity may purchase more than $10,000 in Best Western Gift Cards in a 24-hour period.
- Best Western Gift Cards purchased or bartered from sources other than Best Western licensed vendors (“Unlicensed Vendors”) are not valid or redeemable. Best Western is not responsible for honoring a Best Western Gift Card purchased from an Unlicensed Vendor. Best Western Gift Cards may not be resold by any Unlicensed Vendor or individual under penalty of law. If the Best Western Gift Card was purchased through an Unlicensed Vendor, Best Western reserves the right to refuse providing any additional card information.
- In the interest of protecting you from fraud, we recommend consumers do not purchase Best Western Gift Cards from Unlicensed Vendors.

Best Western Gift Card
- Best Western Gift Cards can be purchased at participating Best Western branded hotels worldwide, online at travelcard.bestwestern.com, and through licensed vendors. Best Western Gift Cards can be used toward participating Best Western hotel lodging charges (i.e., room night charges and applicable taxes). Acceptance of the Best Western Gift Card for services other than hotel lodging charges is at the discretion of the individual hotel.
- The Best Western Gift Card is NOT accepted at WorldHotelsTM
- Best Western Gift Cards can be purchased or reloaded (in some cases) online at travelcard.bestwestern.com in USD, CAD, EUR, or GBP currencies, or purchased or reloaded (in some cases) at participating Best Western branded hotels worldwide in the local currency of the region, but may be subject to conversion fees, as set forth below. Not all Best Western Gift Cards are reloadable.
- The purchaser is responsible for providing an accurate mailing address and email address. Best Western is not responsible for delivery of a Best Western Gift Card to an incorrect but deliverable address or a non-existent address that is provided by the purchaser.
- An electronic Best Western Gift Card is delivered in 1-3 business days.
Purchasing a Best Western Gift Card via travelcard.bestwestern.com
- If a purchaser uses a credit card (e.g., American Express, MasterCard, etc.) to purchase a Best Western Gift Card in a currency other than USD, such currency must be converted to USD and may be subject to a conversion fee. Fees are subject to prevailing conversion rates. Please check with your credit card provider for more information.
- Fees for international transactions may be charged by the credit card provider. Please consult your credit card provider for specific details regarding applicable international fees.
Use of the Best Western Gift Card at a Best Western Branded Hotel
- Best Western Gift Cards may only be applied towards pre-paid rates if the gift card is applied Online as Payment at the time of booking. If a member books a pre-paid rate without utilizing the online gift card redemption process, then the only way to apply a Best Western gift card for that reservation is: if there is a balance due at the time of check-in/out at the hotel.
- Best Western reserves the right to request a form of security deposit in advance for expenses not covered by the Best Western Gift Card. Best Western Gift Cards cannot be used as a form of guarantee for room reservations.
- The value available on the Best Western Gift Card will be reduced by the total charges. It is the responsibility of the cardholder to keep track of the value of their Best Western Gift Card. Best Western Gift Card balances can be tracked online at travelcard.bestwestern.com. The balance may also be checked by calling Best Western Gift Card Customer Service (see contact information below).
- Guests cannot use Best Western Gift Cards to pay for reservations booked through third parties, such as online travel agencies.
- If you present a Best Western Gift Card at check-in, the amount redeemed from the Best Western Gift Card will be converted to the local currency of the hotel by us or our agents. Unless a particular rate is required by applicable law, we will choose a conversion rate that is acceptable to us.
Use of the Best Western Gift Card to Book Online Reservations at bestwestern.com
- At time of online reservation, guests will be prompted to enter their Best Western Gift Cards (if available) and a personal credit card or other form of payment guarantee.
- Best Western Gift Cards can only be used to book online reservations for a hotel if the Best Western Gift Card was issued in the local currency of the region.
- Best Western Gift Cards applied online can be used towards hotel lodging charges (i.e., room night charges and applicable taxes).
- Best Western reserves the right to request a form of security deposit in advance for expenses not covered by the Best Western Gift Card.
- The value available on the Best Western Gift Card will be reduced by the total charges of the reservation, including any applicable federal, state, or local taxes. If a transaction exceeds the Best Western Gift Card balance, the cardholder must pay the remaining balance with another payment method. It is the responsibility of the cardholder to keep track of the value of their Best Western Gift Card. Best Western Gift Card balances can be tracked online at travelcard.bestwestern.com. The balance may also be checked by calling Best Western Gift Card Customer Service (see contact information below).
- The value available on the Best Western Gift Card must be consumed by the expiration date (if applicable). The arrival date of your booking must be on or before the Gift Card expiration date.
- If you modify a reservation associated with a Best Western Gift Card and the total cost due changes, the Gift Card will be refunded and must be presented to the hotel for processing. This refund will only process if the Best Western Gift Card is valid and not expired.
- If you cancel a reservation associated with a Best Western Gift Card that has not expired, then the full amount is refunded back to the Gift Card.
- Failing to show for a reservation will result in a charge to your credit card or other guaranteed payment method. Best Western Gift Cards used for a reservation that you fail to show for may be charged. Taxes or other fees may apply.
Risk of Loss, Limitation of Liability, and Choice of Law and Venue
- Neither Best Western nor any of its affiliates are responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed Best Western Gift Cards or if any Best Western Gift Card is used without your permission.
- For physical Best Western Gift Cards, risk of loss and title pass to the purchaser on Best Western’s delivery of the Gift Card to the carrier. For electronic Best Western Gift Cards, risk of loss and title pass to the purchaser upon electronic transmission to recipient (the recipient may not always be the original purchaser).
- TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO BEST WESTERN GIFT CARDS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, IN THE EVENT A BEST WESTERN GIFT CARD IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND BEST WESTERN’S SOLE LIABILITY, WILL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF THAT BEST WESTERN GIFT CARD.
- Any disputes arising out of or related to Best Western Gift Cards or these terms and conditions will be handled individually without any class action and will be governed by and enforced in accordance with the laws of Arizona, without regard to its conflicts of law rules. The exclusive jurisdiction for any claim or action arising out of or relating to the Best Western Gift Cards or these terms and conditions may be filed only in the state or federal courts located in Arizona.

USING FREE NIGHT AWARDS
The number of Points required for one (1) free night stay at a Licensed Hotel is based on the expected average daily rate on the date requested for the stay, varies throughout the year, and is subject to change at BWI’s discretion. Free night stays can be reserved at any Licensed Hotel worldwide subject to capacity controls and room availability. To find the number of Points required or to check availability for a free night stay, visit bestwestern.com, your Local Site, the Best Western mobile application, or contact a Best Western call center. Free night stays may not be booked through travel agents or online travel agents and are not commissionable. Your Free Night Award may not be exchanged for cash, transferred, extended beyond the expiration date, or re-credited for points.
Reservations for free night awards may be booked online or by calling a Best Western call center at 800-237-8483 daily from 5am-10am MST or for any questions regarding youraward.
A free night stay in a standard room at any Licensed Hotel includes the cost of the room and room taxes, but does not include incidental charges, resort fees, or other fees that the Licensed Hotel may charge, such as parking fees. Guest is financially responsible for any portion of charges exceeding the free night stay award.
You may cancel your reservation without loss of your free night award by the hotel cancellation deadline. Canceling after the hotel cancellation deadline or failing to show for a reservation, will result in the Free Night Award being voided and loss of the award.
Free night stays may only be gifted to immediate family members (spouse, partner, children, parents, in-laws, siblings). Once issued, the award is non-transferable.
Use of the Best Western Free Night Award (FNA) to Book Online Reservations at bwh.com
When making an online reservation, guests will be prompted to enter their Best Western FNA number, Sequence number, PIN, and a personal credit card or other form of payment to guarantee the booking.
- FNA applied online covers hotel lodging charges and room rate applicable taxes. Additional fees i.e., resort fees, pet fees, incidentals or any exclusive taxes are not included and are not covered by the award.
- Best Western reserves the right to request a form of security deposit in advance for expenses not covered by the FNA.
- The FNA must be redeemed by the expiration date. The arrival date of your booking must be on or before the FNA expiration date.
- If you modify a reservation associated with the FNA and the total required amount of points changes, the FNA will be refunded back to the account.
- If you cancel a reservation associated with a FNA that has not expired within the cancellation time period, then the full amount is refunded back to the member’s account.
- Once the FNA is redeemed, it cannot be used for any other bookings unless the award is cancelled and redeposited back to the member’s account.
- FNAs are redeemable for one night and one room bookings only. If booking a stay longer than one night or for more than one room, please make a separate reservation for the additional night(s) or room(s).
- FNA Bookings are valid for Domestic (DOM) hotels only (US/Canada/Caribbean).
- The FNA will be delivered by email within 2-3 weeks after meeting the promotion requirement.
- To qualify for the FNA, your BWH Rewards account must be open and not in default at the time of the FNA issuance.
- FNA rules and regulations are subject to change.
- All FNAs issued will have an expiration of 12 months.
- FNA redemptions are subject to the terms and conditions of BWH Rewards.
