A gem by the open sea, surrounded by spectacular nature. On a small islet in Tjelsundet, you’ll find the historic Sandtorgholmen Hotel, BW Signature Collection. Once a trading post and key stop along the busy shipping route carrying people and goods from south to north, it is now a rare hotel destination. Whether guests want dramatic nature and northern lights outside the window or charming 18th-century buildings, this is the place for active, adventurous, and nature-loving travelers.
Rooms and common areas. The hotel offers comfortable rooms in different categories and sizes. The property includes Brygga, Storgarden, Stabburet, a wood-fired hot tub, and a freestanding sauna overlooking the sea. Storgarden, a Swiss-style villa built in 1906, has elegantly furnished lounges with hand-painted wallpaper, ceiling roses, and chandeliers, plus five suites and two standard double rooms. Brygga houses the restaurant, 10 guest rooms, conference facilities, and outdoor seating. The views are spectacular.
Breakfast and restaurant. A generous breakfast buffet is served every morning. The restaurant at Brygga offers simple dishes during the day and traditional home-style meals in the evening. Hotel guests, locals from Sandtorg, and passing boat tourists are all welcome.
Sandtorg. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful, wild Northern Norwegian nature, as magical in summer as in winter. Summer is perfect for hiking, fishing, paddling, diving, or relaxing on white beaches. In winter, guests can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, or a northern lights safari. Sea fishing is popular year-round, and for an adrenaline rush there are also sea-based adventure activities, including RIB tours. The hotel works with several partners offering a wide range of activities.
