When you’re exploring Vancouver Island, head to the Victoria Butterfly Gardens to see the exhibits of birds, tortoise, fish, frogs, and geckoes. You’ll also find more than 4,000 butterflies across the grounds and a collection of tropical birds and koi fish.

Abkhazi Garden
Blooming with color and beauty, the Abkhazi Garden is a historic home and garden located in Victoria. The garden was built in 1946, and features a vast collection of flowers, trees, and greenery native to Vancouver Island and British Columbia.
Specific landmarks at the garden include the Teahouse at Abkhazi Garden – a working restaurant and teahouse specializing in afternoon tea and light lunches. Tour through the garden and you’ll come face to face with colorful displays like the Rhododendron Woodland Garden, the Yangtze River display, and the scenic East Path.
Butchart Gardens
A tourism staple of Vancouver Island, Buchart Gardens is located in Brentwood Bay just north of Victoria. Taking in more than one million guests every year, Buchart Gardens is vast gathering of stunning gardens, and a National Historic Site of Canada.

Victoria Butterfly Gardens
Visit the Victoria Butterfly Gardens, just minutes from downtown Victoria and available via shuttle service, and take experience a true, tropical habitat without leaving Vancouver Island. The gardens feature 75 different species of butterfly spread across the 12,000 square foot indoor habitat.
Although mostly known for butterflies, there are many more species to be seen while on a tour of the gardens. Explore the lush tropics and vast greenery in the climate controlled facility, heralded as one of "Canada's Most Improved Attractions."
