North of Vancouver beyond Squamish, Whistler Blackcomb yields over 8,000 skiable acres – making it the largest ski destination in British Columbia.
Home to the capital city of Victoria and several ski areas, Vancouver Island is yet another hotspot for ski enthusiasts. Visit Mount Washington Alpine Resort for alpine skiing, and the adjacent Strathcona Provincial Park for Nordic skiing and snowshoe trails – both near Courtenay. Mount Cain Alpine Park is located near Campbell River, and offers plenty of acres for skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country excursions.
Northern B.C. features some incredible ski areas as well. Don’t miss the slopes of Hudson Bay Mountain – the largest ski area in northern British Columbia – and nearby Shames Mountain. Powder King Mountain Resort is a quick day trip from Dawson Creek, while the Tabor Mountain Alpine Resort features 180 skiable acres.
