BC Ski Resorts & Parks
It's no secret western Canada has some of the best ski areas in the country. Thanks to famed spots like Whistler Blackcomb, and intimate ski parks like Bear Mountain Ski Hill – you’re winter vacation is about to go downhill.
Ski areas abound in central and eastern British Columbia. Eastern B.C. yields alpine escapes like Panorama Mountain, Whitewater Ski Area, and the Fernie Alpine Ski Area – all found within the B.C. Rockies.
Set in the Okanagan Valley and throughout central B.C., ski parks like Sun Peaks Mountain, Silver Star Mountain, Big White Mountain, and Red Mountain are ready for slope enthusiasts all winter.
More ski parks pepper the Vancouver metropolitan area. Check out Cypress Bowl, Grouse Mountain, and Mount Seymour just above North Vancouver, or head east of Vancouver to Chilliwack – home to the intimate Hemlock Valley ski area. North of Vancouver beyond Squamish, Whistler Blackcomb yields over 8,000 skiable acres – making it the largest ski destination in British Columbia.
Home to the capital city of Victoria and several ski areas, Vancouver Island is yet another hotspot for ski enthusiasts. Visit Mount Washington Alpine Resort for alpine skiing, and the adjacent Strathcona Provincial Park for Nordic skiing and snowshoe trails – both near Courtenay. Mount Cain Alpine Park is located near Campbell River, and offers plenty of acres for skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country excursions.
Northern B.C. features some incredible ski areas as well. Don’t miss the slopes of Hudson Bay Mountain – the largest ski area in northern British Columbia – and nearby Shames Mountain. Powder King Mountain Resort is a quick day trip from Dawson Creek, while the Tabor Mountain Alpine Resort features 180 skiable acres.
