Make your next travel plans for Québec and head for Montreal or Québec City. Separated by 250 kilometres, Montreal and Québec City share quite a bit in terms of tourism – plenty of outdoor recreation during the winter, festivals set to amaze, cultural and historic sites fit for all, and a bevy of charming and fun attractions.

Québec City, the capital of the province, boasts a line-up of attractions spanning a variety of genres. From the Artillery Park National Historic Site to Old Town Québec, you'll find plenty to see and do.

Winter visitors often make the drive to Mont-Sainte-Anne for excellent skiing and snowboarding thrills, and snowmobile riders head for the Aventure Laurentienne in Baie-St-Paul – almost directly between Québec City and Riviere-Du-Loup.

Pack up the kiddos and make a day-trip to the Québec Winter Carnival, held every January. The annual event has grown into one of the biggest carnivals in the world, with events perfect for families like a soap box derby, snow rafting, and a wealth of food vendors.

A winter visit to Montreal should take you to Mont Tremblant. Ideal for skiing and snowboarding, Mont Tremblant is north of downtown Montreal and an easy drive from nearby cities like Brossard or Laval. Closer to Gatineau, hit the slopes at the Centre de Ski Vorlage.

When you explore Montreal during spring or summer, you'll have a chance to check out the exciting action of the Major League Soccer when you visit Saputo Stadium, home pitch of the Montreal Impact. Hockey fans visiting can visit the CentreBell, home ice of the Montreal Canadiens.

Don't miss out on the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade starting at the corner of Fort and St. Catherine streets. And every June, Montreal hosts the Montreal Folk Festival on the Canal, a rousing display of local and touring folk music performers – visit from Drummondville or Saint-Jerome.

Drive across the famed Jacques Cartier Bridge or visit the Montreal Botanical Garden, another choice destination on your spring or summer visit. Some of the more faithful will choose to visit the Notre-Dame Basilica or the Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, there will never be a day without activity when touring Montreal and Québec City.
