Find your Favourite Fresh Farm in Ontario, Canada

There are plenty of fun farms to visit when you’re in Ontario. Your little ones will love Gammondale Farm. There they will get a good dose of education by experiencing the natural world and enjoying a ton of fun, seasonal activities like the Easter Egg Hunt, Pumpkinfest, and a Christmas nativity with live animals.

Adults will love Gammondale too. It’s a prime spot for weddings, birthday parties of all ages, and any sort of corporate or community event. There’s not a better place to take a sleigh ride through the snow come the winter, either.

Go to Thunder Oak Cheese Farm to find award-winning, all natural Gouda cheese on the Slate River Valley countryside. As if that’s not mouth-watering enough, head to White Meadows Farms and get some of the tastiest maple products on the continent; not just syrup but maple barbecue sauce, dressing, jelly, and even vinegar. But the true masterpiece, the one that will always keep you coming back, is the butter tart.

Gammondale Farm Family Fun

Providing education on healthy lifestyles for families, Gammondale farm is in northern Ontario, just south of Thunder Bay in the town of Slate River. With draws like Pumpkinfest, Haunted Cornfield, and old-fashioned horse-drawn sleigh rides, the farm’s goal is to foster interest in nature and bring awareness to the importance of agriculture to a community.

Along with live animals and a farmyard full of activities, Gammondale Farm visitors can catch a glimpse of Canada’s Largest Catapult. Each year, events include the Christmas Nativity and the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, while the farm hosts weddings and parties all year long.

Thunder Oak Cheese Farm

Northern Ontario is not only home to the Algonquin Provincial Park, but is also home to a wonderful Gouda cheese farm. The family-owned Thunder Oak Cheese Farm, located southwest of Thunder Bay, was established in 1981 by Jacob and Margaret Schep. The Schep's family lineage includes a long line of cheese-makers from Holland – this is a premier cheese-related attraction in northern Ontario.

Margaret learned the cheese-making process from her mother, a World Champion cheese maker, before immigrating to Canada. The Scheps make eight varieties of Gouda cheese in a variety of sizes. Step inside the cheese factory to see how the cheese is made. Before leaving, browse the selection of cheese and other Dutch items, including cookies and spices, in the gift store.

White Meadows Farms

Celebrating “Everything Canadian Maple,” White Meadows Farms are on the southeastern edge of St. Catherines in southern Ontario. Primarily a maple syrup production and packaging facility, the farms open their doors to visitors and host numerous seasonal events and activities.

A perfect school field trip destination, White Meadows Farms’ groomed trails and indigenous woods are host to the Sugar Bush Adventure. Meanwhile, those with an adventurous palette can sample a wide range of syrup flavours during Pancake Weekends. Ice skating and sledding are also popular activities on the farm.
