Explore Indiana’s Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial
Visit Indiana’s Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial in Lincoln City and see the family farm where Abraham Lincoln spent 14 years of his childhood. The Lincoln family lived in the community from 1816-1830. Ranked as one of the best historic sites in the state, the attraction features two memorial halls, a museum, and visitor center. View a variety of exhibits on Lincoln in the museum and see an orientation film. After your visit to the museum, take a hike along the Lincoln Boyhood Nature Trail, and enjoy the scenery in the woods before reaching the Living Historical Farm.
The farm is a re-creation of a working pioneer homestead. Tour a cabin and outbuildings and view animals, gardens, and crops. Rangers in period clothing demonstrate activities typical of the 1820s. Before you leave, be sure to browse the gift shop for books, Lincoln-style hats, pioneer toys and souvenirs. Nearby Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum in Rockport consists of 14 Lincoln-era cabins and a museum with hundreds of artifacts.
