Discover a winter wonderland at popular skiing spots in Indiana. Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg is a 100-acre ski facility just a short drive from Indianapolis. Offering 23 scenic trails, two terrain parks, and five chair lifts, the ski area is a favorite Southeast Indiana destination in winter. Ski advanced black diamond slopes or take lessons at the ski school. The resort also offers 25 tubing lanes for family fun.
Paoli Peaks in Southern Indiana is situated in the Hoosier National Forest at Paoli. The resort offers 15 trails, five chairlifts, two conveyor surface lifts and one surface tow. Built on a natural hill with a 900-ft. elevation, the vertical drop is 300 ft. Skiing and snowboarding trails are offered for all experience levels. Try a fun midnight skiing session or go snow tubing. Equipment rentals are available at the pro shop and lessons are offered. Cardinal Greenways is a popular destination for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Traverse 62 miles of trails that wind from Marion through Muncie and Richmond to East Central Indiana. France Park in Loganport, Chain O’Lakes Park in Albion and Ox Bow County Park in Elkhart also offer well-maintained cross-country skiing trails.
Paoli Peaks Ski Area
The Hoosier National Forest plays host to the Paoli Peaks Ski Area during Indiana’s winter months. Located in the town of Paoli, outside of Dale, in Southern Indiana, the peaks offer snowboarding trails, snow tubing, and skiing. The average grade of the slopes is between ten and fifteen percent with the majority of the mountain geared for intermediate skill levels.
Ski and snowboard equipment is available for rent as well as purchase in the 3,000 ft. pro shop located at the base of the slopes, whether you are a first-timer looking to get set up or an expert with specific tastes, this shop has everything you need. Lessons are available on the slopes in addition to other amenities including a pizzeria, lodge, restaurant and bully bar.
