Here you will also find the 137,000-acre Lake Winnebago, the largest inland lake in Wisconsin, offering shorelines of inviting towns, great attractions, and a rich heritage to explore.

The largest maritime museum on the Great Lakes is located in Manitowoc. Here you will find a shipbuilding center with fascinating displays of everything from wooden sailing ships to a World War II-era submarine. The city is also the homeport of the largest car ferry on the Great Lakes. You can load up in Manitowoc ride to Ludington, Michigan and back.

On the northwest shore of Lake Winnebago, you will find the city of Appleton. This area is an urban area known as the Fox Cities. Located along the Fox River and Lake Winnebago, Fox Cities is a popular destination for shopping.
