Enjoy Interactive Learning at Children’s Museums in Wisconsin
Set just outside of downtown Cataract, the Little Falls Railroad and Doll Museum is a family-friendly attraction unique to Wisconsin. Some of the don’t-miss features include a model railroad, Madame Alexander doll collection, and 40-foot play train. The museum also offers a playground and a Toddler’s Trike Trail for the little ones. And for the adults, stop in the Railroad Museum for some fascinating bits of history.
Kids will have a blast at The Building for Kids Children’s Museum located on the west side of Appleton. This exciting museum offers interactive experiences for the whole family. Get messy and paint in the DaVinci Studio, climb and read a book in the Story Tree, or pull the levers in the Move-It exhibit. Other favorites activities include being a firefighter at the Station 99 Fire Truck and operating the big equipment in Construction Junction.
A must visit museum while in Wisconsin is the Madison Children’s Museum. This award-winning museum is ideal for kids of all ages. Some of the favorite exhibits include the Possible-opolis, Wayback Machine, Cow Hoist, and the Gerbil Wheel. The Wildernest area is perfect for children ages five and younger.
The Building for Kids Children's Museum
An educational museum on the west side of Appleton, the Building for Kids Children's Museum provides hands-on, interactive experiences for the entire family. Kids love to get messy in the DaVinci Studio, climb in the Story Tree, sit in the Gulfstream Jet, and pull the levers in the Move-It exhibit.
Playing on the Amazing Heart, splashing at the Water Play exhibit, operating the big crane in the Construction Junction, and pretending to be a firefighter at the Station 99 Fire Truck are also favorites. Other fun-filled exhibits at this southern Wisconsin museum include the Happy Baby Garden and the Big Dig – both are great for toddlers.
Madison Children's Museum
An award-winning Madison museum, the Madison Children's Museum is perfect for children of all ages. The Wildernest area, geared for children five years and younger and the Rooftop Ramble, a four-season clubhouse are favorite centers in the museum. Kids use their imagination to create masterpieces in the Possible-opolis exhibit and love playing with the Wayback Machine, the Gerbil Wheel, and the Cow Hoist. Schedule plenty of time for this must-do Madison area attraction.
Trees for Tomorrow
Offering environmental classes since 1944, the Trees for Tomorrow Natural Resource Education Center is a specialty school located in Eagle River. A variety of natural resource workshops and programs are offered on the 30-acre campus, including the annual Forest Fest and Amazing Forest Race events. Students from northern Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan travel to the campus to attend specialty events at Eagle River Golf Course. The school is great for kids, offering programs like Science Earth Exploration for Kids summer programs and the Wolf Ecology Workshop.
