Save time to visit exciting wildlife preserves and zoos in Alabama. Tigers for Tomorrow in Attalia is home to over 160 animals including tigers, lions, bears, wolves, and black leopards. Situated on 140 acres, the preserve is accessible from I-59, just a short drive from Gadsden. Take a fun tour on weekends from Oct-May and on Weds-Sun during June-Sept.
The Birmingham Zoo is situated on 122 acres in central Alabama. The family-friendly zoo is home to more than 900 animals, including 230 species. Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge is a popular bird watching destination along the Tombigbee River. Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge
Located along the beautiful Chattahoochee River, the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge provides a natural habitat and protection for waterfowl and other birds, including endangered species. The scenic refuge is located in southern Alabama, just about one hour from the city of Troy. One of the focal points of the refuge is Lake Eufaula and the several feeder streams nearby. Visitors enjoy the opportunity for outdoor recreation, including activities like boating and fishing, and hiking near Lakepoint State Park.
