Outdoor Washington D.C. Activities
The Capital Region isn’t all monuments and the department of this or that. Plenty of outdoor fun can be found in Washington D.C. as well.
National Mall & Memorial Parks
What sounds cooler than some outdoor fun on the National Mall? There are several activities set just in sight of the Washington Monument, including golf, soccer, boating, and tennis.
Swing by the historic East Potomac Golf Course – featuring 36 holes and open throughout the year. East Potomac Golf Course also offers mini golf, the GolfDC Academy, a heated driving range, and Potomac Grille for lunch.
You can also check out the outdoor courts at the East Potomac Tennis Center at Hains Point, try the Tidal Basin Paddle Boats for an extra close look at the Jefferson Memorial and iconic Japanese Cherry Trees, or splash around at the East Potomac Pool at the aquatic center.
Capitol Hill Parks
Found in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington D.C., Capitol Hill Parks consists of four urban areas: Folger Park, Lincoln Park, Marion Park, and Stanton Park.
Each park has walking trails and picnic spots, and plenty of historic significance. Check out the fountain bench at Folger Park, the playground at Marion Park, and more.
