Appreciate the arts as you travel through Maryland at these sites showing fine arts and stage performances.

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts

The Washington County Museum & Fine Arts, is located in the Hagerstown City Park in downtown Hagerstown. The museum, completed in 1929, displays a wonderful variety of fine art in its permanent collection and hosts concerts, art classes, special events, and exhibitions.

Traveling exhibitions are also available throughout the year. Enjoy some quiet time in the Museum Art Library and browse through the Museum Shop for a handcrafted item, book or gift.

The museum is close to many Maryland attractions including the Washington County Museum, Antietam Battlefield, and Hagerstown Prime Outlets.

Carroll Arts Center

Tap into the arts in the northern Maryland city of Westminster by visiting the Carroll Arts Center. The center was established in 2003 with the renovation of the historic art deco Carroll Theater – built in 1937. The original 850-seat theater is now home to a 263-seat theater, classrooms, galleries, and event space.

Visits may attend a lecture, view a film, and enjoy live theater or musical and dance performances. Holiday favorites include "A Christmas Carol" and "Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas."

Stroll through the two art galleries to view the variety of art that rotates throughout the year. Special exhibits include the Annual Festival of Wreaths and PEEPshow, showcasing hundreds of marshmallow creations.
