Discover America’s Birthplace at Independence National Historic Park
Spread out over 55 acres throughout Philadelphia, Independence National Historical Park preserves a collection of landmarks and sites that are important to the American Revolution and the birth of the United States. Independence NHP is made up of almost 30 sites and structures around the city and spans nearly 20 blocks along Independence Mall Street, from Walnut to Race Streets in the downtown area.
Must-see sites include the Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall, Declaration House, Congress Hall, Old City Hall, and President's House Site. Perhaps the most-visited site within the park is Independence Hall. This is where the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were both signed, and the United States of America was born. Independence NHP is also home to the original Liberty Bell and the Liberty Bell Center. The historical journey continues at the Benjamin Franklin Museum, located in Franklin Court on the east side of the park. The museum offers a unique view into Franklin’s life with a variety of interactive artifacts, exhibits, and computer animations.
