1. Virginia Tech Hokies
Calling western Virginia home, the Hokies compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference in all major sports – most nobtably football, where there have won over nine conference championships.

2. University of Richmond Spiders
Representing the capital of Virginia, the Spiders primarily compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference, but play football and women's golf in the Colonial Athletic Conference.

3. James Madison Dukes
Rival members of the Colonial Athletic Conference, the James Madison Dukes play home games in the town of Harrisonburg.

4. University of Virginia Cavaliers
Also known as the "Wahoos," taken from their fight song, the Cavaliers contend in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 25 varsity teams. They compete in western Virginia just north of Covington.

5. College of William & Mary Tribe
Located just north of Norfolk in the town of Williamsburg, you'll find the William & Mary Tribe – proud members of the Colonial Athletic Conference where they hold a fierce rivalry with the Richmond Spiders.
