Spend a day out on Long Island, on the border of Nassau and Suffolk County, at Bethpage State Park. Tee off on one of five 18-hole golf courses; (in order of increasing difficulty) the Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, and Black Courses, the Black Course having twice hosted the U.S. Open. Bethpage also has a Golf Pro Shop and a driving range if you just want to practice your swing without the competition getting too intense.
Go horseback riding on one of Bethpage’s bridle paths. Make use of the park’s picnic facilities. Tennis players have plenty of courts to play on, so get your racket ready. Take advantage of the polo field. Enjoy some cross-country skiing. Run along the four-kilometer and five-kilometer cross-country courses.
If you came to do some hiking or go for a bike ride, there are trails with your name on them. Relax and indulge in some fine dining at Taste 99 or utilize Bethpage’s catering facilities.
