Enjoy State-Of-The-Art Sports Venues In New York

For baseball fans, there are two amazing parks; Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, home of the Yankees, and Citi Field in Queens, home of the Mets.

Get an up-close view of some fast-paced NBA or NHL action at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan or Barclays Center in Brooklyn. MSG is home to the NBA’s Knicks and the NHL’s Rangers. Barclays is home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the NHL’s New York Islanders. MCU Park is home to the Minor League Brooklyn Cyclones.

Cheer for Buffalo Bills at Ralf Wilson Stadium and the Buffalo Bisons at the Coca-Cola Field. In Syracuse, catch the Orangemen take the field at Carrier Dome. Watch hockey or soccer league action at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena. Enjoy events at the SRC Arena and Event Center.

Oncenter War Memorial Arena

With a seating capacity for over 6,100 people, the Oncenter War Memorial Arena is a multi-purpose facility in downtown Syracuse, New York. Owned and operated by Onondaga County, the central New York arena is the home of the AHL Syracuse Crunch and the former home of the NBA Syracuse Nationals in the 1950s.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building is a go-to venue for major concert tours passing through the region. Notable concerts held at Oncenter have included KISS, Bruce Springsteen, and Aerosmith.

Madison Square Garden

Visitors and residents of The Big Apple have a variety of options for sightseeing and entertainment. New York City is home to the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Madison Square Garden – the "World's Most Famous Arena."

This multipurpose venue is located in Manhattan on top of Pennsylvania Station – the busiest train station and commuter rail center in America.

When it opened in 1968, it was the fourth Madison Square Arena to be built in New York City. This historical arena has been home to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League and the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association since opening day.

Madison Square Garden is the city's longest active sports arena and is the world's third busiest arena for concerts. The Garden hosts as many as 320 events each year, including boxing, political, and circus events.

Barclays Center

The most populous of all five New York City boroughs is Brooklyn – home to the Barclays Center. Completed in 2012, Barclays Center hosts home game for NBA's Brooklyn Nets and NHL's New York Islanders – along with other sporting events, conventions, and concerts.

Set in Pacific Park, Barclays Center neighbors the Atlantic Terminal and Atlantic Avenue – Barclays Center for those utilizing public transit. Owned by Brooklyn Events Center, LLC, Barclays Center has a capacity of up to 19,000.

Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium

Carrier Dome

Able to seat over 49,000 sports fans, the Carrier Dome is a domed sports stadium in the University Hill area of Syracuse, New York. T

he central New York facility is set on the campus of Syracuse University and is home to the Syracuse Orange football, basketball and lacrosse teams.

The largest college basketball arena in the United States, the Carrier Dome holds the attendance record for an on-campus basketball game at 35,012.

The facility also serves as a venue for major concerts – past headliners include Elton John, U2, the Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney.

Citi Field

Sports fans on Long Island in New York have two great reasons to celebrate. Citi Field and the National Tennis Center are located adjacent to each other, in the Queens borough of New York City – and within the Flushing Meadows–Corona Park.

Since 2009, Major League Baseball's New York Mets have played all their home games at Citi Field – the replacement for Shea Stadium. Owned by Queens Ballpark Company, LLC., the new home of the Mets features 41,922 seats and an overarching bridge motif. Features include the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, Shea Stadium's Home Run Apple, and Shea Bridge.

Coca-Cola Field

Located in western New York, Coca-Cola Field primarily serves as the home field advantage for the MiLB Buffalo Bisons. The Bisons are the Triple-A affiliate to the neighboring MLB team, the Toronto Blue Jays.

The ballpark was opened in 1988 with a seating capacity of 18,025 baseball fans. Aside from thrilling baseball, the ballpark frequently hosts a number of large events as well, like the National Buffalo Wing Festival, concerts, and so much more in Buffalo.

Falcon Park

New York baseball fans in the central part of the state, have enjoyed baseball games for decades. Fans in the Auburn area have had fun watching games at Falcon Park since 1927, when the original ballpark was built. The current Falcon Park was re-built on the site of the original ballpark in 1995.

Falcon Park is the home field for the Auburn Doubledays minor league baseball team. In 1994, the old original Falcon Park wooden grandstand was demolished within minutes of the end of the season's last game, when a bulldozer charged through the fence. The new ballpark features 2,800 seats and resembles Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.

First Niagara Center

Many New York visitors traveling to the western part of the state include a stop at Niagara Falls, one of the top attractions in America. While in the area, a visit to Buffalo is a must.

This second-most populous city after New York City, is home to the First Niagara Center, western New York's largest indoor arena. This 18,690-seat arena has been the home arena for the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League, since it opened in 1996.

Lake Placid Olympic Center

Host of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Games, the Lake Placid Olympic Center is located in the Adirondack community of Lake Placid.

MCU Park

Visitors, vacationers, and residents of New York are sure to visit Coney Island and MCU Park. Located in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, this minor league baseball stadium is home to the Short-Season A Brooklyn Cyclones.

The Cyclones have played MCU Park since 2001, and are members of the New York-Penn League – affiliated with the New York Mets. Owned by the City of New York, MCU Park features a capacity of up to 10,000 baseball fans – and also hosts other sporting events and concerts.

Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Long Island is not only home to the LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport, but also the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The site has been home to the National Hockey League's New York Islanders since it opened in 1972.

Throughout the years, this Uniondale coliseum, has hosted many events, concerts, trade shows, and exhibitions. This expansive New York City area facility encompasses 63 acres on the site of a former Air Force and Army base. It boasts 44,000 square feet of space in the main arena, in addition to the 60,000 square feet of space in the Expo Center.

National Tennis Center

The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, located in Flushing Meadows Park, has hosted the US Open tennis tournament since 1978. The 46-acre center contains 22 tennis courts with an additional eleven courts available adjacent park.

Operated by the United States Tennis Association, the center is available for public tennis matches throughout the year, except for during the US Open. The center's main court is Arthur Ashe Stadium, the world's largest tennis stadium, with a capacity for 23,200 spectators. Plan to watch your favorite tennis players during the US Open and enjoy your time in the New York City metro area.

Ralph Wilson Stadium

National Football League fans in the Buffalo area have a great reason to celebrate. Every football season, they cheer on the NFL's Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The stadium has been the home turf for the Bills since it opened in 1973 in Orchard Park – southeast of Buffalo in western New York.

"The Ralph" is named after the Buffalo Bills owner, president and founder, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. This Pro Football Hall of Famer is one of the founding owners of the American Football League, and the stadium was named to honor him in 1998. Throughout the years, the stadium has hosted many top-name concerts, including The Grateful Dead, The Jacksons, and Bruce Springsteen.

Richmond County Bank Ballpark

Make time to catch an exciting minor league baseball game in Staten Island's Richmond County Bank Ballpark. This 7,171-seat stadium is the home field for the Staten Island Yankees – affiliates of the New York Yankees in the New York-Penn League.

Richmond County Bank Ballpark was built on the site of the former New York City B&O Railroad rail yards, overlooking the New York Harbor near Brooklyn. The ballpark was completed in 2001, and features sails representing the Staten Island Ferry at the ballpark entrance.

SRC Arena

With a seating capacity for 6,500 people, SRC Arena is a multi-purpose facility in Syracuse, York. The Arena is set on the central New York campus of Onondaga Community College and is home turf for numerous Onondaga NJCAA sports teams.

In addition to Onondaga athletics, the facility’s 60,000 square feet of tradeshow floorspace make it a go-to for community events and traveling exhibitions. Past favorites have included the Cheerzlicious Cheerleading Competition and the Legends of Jazz Series.

Times Union Center

With the seating capacity for 15,500 sports fans, the Times Union Center is set in downtown Albany, New York. Owned by Albany County and operated by SMG, the arena is home to the AHL Albany Devils hockey team, as well as Siena College's men's basketball team, the Siena Saints.

Formerly known as Knickerbocker Arena and Pepsi Arena, the facility was opened with a performance by the legendary Frank Sinatra. Times Union Center has since remained a go-to venue for big-name concerts – past headliners include Billy Joel, Elton John, U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Pearl Jam.

Yankee Stadium

Sports fans in New York City have an array of teams to follow. Basketball fans flock to Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks play ball, while baseball fans head to Yankee Stadium, to watch the New York Yankees in action.

The Yankees have played their home games in the stadium since it opened in 2009, after the original 1923 Yankee Stadium closed in 2008.

The new ballpark is located across the street from the original stadium, in the Bronx borough of New York City. The stadium construction cost was $1.5 billion, making it the most expensive ballpark.
