The Elliott Bay Brewing Co. – creators of organic, handcrafted ales – has three locations in the greater Seattle area. Try one of the many year-round beers like the Alembic Pale Ale, Highline IPA, and the No Doubt Stout – the darkest of the year-rounders.
For more incredible local flavor, head to Capitol Hill for a visit to the Elysian Brewing Company – a 220-seat brewpub first opened in 1996. Grab a glass of the classic Wise ESB, the seasonal Night Owl Pumpkin Ale, or try one of the 12 beers of the apocalypse.
For more local microbreweries in Seattle, try Hale's Ales – a traditional English brewery between the Fremont and Ballard districts – or stop by Naked City Brewery & Taphouse for some local, on-tap beers like Pinkerton Porter, Rhubarb Wheat, or Betsy’s Big Mountain. Check out the Pike Pub and Brewery for some Naughty Nellie or Double IPA, or the classic Pike IPA in this neighborhood brewpub first opened in 1989.
North of Seattle in the Puget Sound, the city of Bellingham is home to the Boundary Bay Brewery. Established in 1995, Boundary Bay Brewery is open daily at 11 a.m. and features a bistro, beer garden, and festivities. Then try the organic flavors of Fish Tale Ales – based out of Olympia near Tumwater and Lacey and brewed right in the Republic of Cascadia. Other Puget Sound breweries include Skookum Brewing in Arlington, North Sound Brewing in Mt. Vernon, and Middleton Brewing in Everett.
Central Washington features a plethora of breweries as well. Find Badger Mountain Brewing in Wenatchee, Icicle Brewing in Leavenworth, and Ten Pin Brewing – all in the Cascades region. Southern Washington breweries include Bale Breaker Brewing in Yakima, Burwood Brewing in Walla Walla, Snipes Mountain Brewing in Sunnyside, and Whitstran Brewing in Prosser.
For a taste from eastern Evergreen State, be sure to visit the Northern Lights Brewing Company in Spokane. Visitors of Spokane and Liberty Lake can head to Northern Lights for their Crystal Bitter Ale – created during the first year of operation in 1993 – and seasonal ales like Solar Winds and Copperfest.
