Evergreen State Treks & Trails
Get ready for the many miles of impressive hiking trails in Washington. Follow McManamon Road five miles northwest from Othello to the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, an incredibly scenic spot in outdoor Washington featuring hiking and wildlife viewing.
Trek down the three-mile Frog Lake Trail, enjoy a quick stroll down the one-mile Crab Creek Trail, or catch a great view of eastern Washington from Drumheller Overlook.
For a real challenge, make your way to the Mt. Rainier National Park in northwestern Washington – home to the ultimate trail, the 93-mile Wonderland Trail. Just east of Cascades cities like Puyallup, Lacey, Tumwater, and Chehalis, the Wonderland Trail circles Mt. Rainier National Park, and might be the best way to explore outdoor Washington on foot.
More hiking can be found in southern Washington in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Enjoy the trails in the 5,000-acre Beacon Rock State Park – set near Vancouver and Washougal. Former stomping grounds of Lewis & Clark, Beacon Rock's 10-miles of trail can take trekkers to the top of Hamilton Mountain – and even Beacon Rock itself.
Set in northwest Washington on the Bellingham Bay, Bellingham is home to the Oyster Dome Trail – a section of the Pacific Northwest Trail. Hike seven miles to the top of the Oyster Dome, where you’ll see amazing views of the Puget Sound and even the Olympic National Park.
