Whether you are a fashionista, bargain hunter or souvenir collector, Washington state offers an abundance of boutiques, outlet stores and intimate galleries for a variety of shopping on your Pacific Northwest getaway. Downtown Seattle and Bellingham are known for locally made and specialty items situated in picturesque waterfronts while traditional and outlet malls can be found in all corners of the state. If it’s a designer brand you’re looking for, you’ll find it at places like the Seattle Premium Outlets or NorthTown Mall in Spokane. Original items like smoked salmon and ornaments made from Mount St. Helen ashes make for great Washington state gifts and can be found at art galleries and eclectic shops. The glass enclosed mall, Westlake Center in downtown Seattle is a great place to start. Offering a bit of everything, Westlake Center features national retailers and the local area gift shops Made in Washington and Fireworks. In the historic downtown district of Seattle, Pioneer Square, you’ll find progressive art galleries and funky shops housed in gorgeous renaissance revival architecture. While there, take some time to explore the original streets underground before perusing treasures in vintage shops and antique bookstores.

In Tulalip, just north of the city, Seattle Premium Outlets offers you the chance to shop amazing deals on over 120 designer labels. Shop fashion apparel, jewelry, home goods and sporting equipment in one location. The indoor food court and sit-down Ram Restaurant & Brewery provide nourishment and a place for a break during your busy Seattle area shopping excursion.

In beautiful Bellingham, just 50 miles south of Vancouver on Puget Sound, Bellis Fair shopping mall is conveniently located off I-5. The largest mall in Bellingham, Bellis Fair is home to major department stores including Macy’s and Target in addition to other premium brands. In downtown Bellingham on Railroad Avenue the volume gets turned up at locally owned record stores, clothing boutiques, and board shops. Just make sure to BYOB- bring your own bag as the city of Bellingham passed a plastic bag ban in 2012.

As you make your way to the east, Wenatchee in (central?) Washington is home to the Wenatchee Valley Mall and standalone shops like Cycle Central. Upstream along the Wenatchee River in Leavenworth The Hat Shop, The Oil & Vinegar Cellar, and The Taffy Shop craft unique shopping experiences in the eastern foothills of Washington’s illustrious Cascade Range.

In Yakima, Valley Mall offers large retail brands and eateries but if you are looking for one of a kind antiques and novelties there are a variety of vineyards and orchards with inviting gift shops that are worth stopping by. Yakima Fruit and Antiques and Maryhill Winery offer tastings and locally crafted goods that you’d be hard pressed to find outside of Washington state.

In the eastern city of Spokane, NorthTown Mall has been expanded several times since its opening in 1955. The mall includes a movie theater and restaurants along with a Barnes & Noble store. To take your shopping to a new level, the Garland Business District in Spokane is host to funky shops, record stores, jewelry stores, and galleries. To top it off, the shopping district has an inviting neighborhood feel, making it a terrific place for you and your group to sit back and sip a latte or a beer.

Lastly, Tacoma ranks high for eclectic vintage shopping in Washington. With a whole section of downtown called Antiques Row, purveyors are dedicated to offering shoppers exclusive and off-beat goods. Proctor District, in the north end is home to locally owned shops while Tacoma Mall is anchored by retail classics like Nordstrom and JC Penney.

As a stalwartly corner state, Washington panders to the modern shopper, giving you the option to shop at your favorite retail store or uncover local items at one of the many independently owned boutiques.

Bellis Fair Mall

Opened in 1988, Bellis Fair Mall is one of the largest shopping centers in all of Bellingham. On your next trek across northern Washington and the Puget Sound, make a stop at Bellis Fair Mall and enjoy a mini shopping spree. You'll find all of the major stores at Bellis Fair like Macy's, and J.C. Penney.

As you explore Bellis Fair Mall, be sure to take in a movie at Bellis Fair Cinemas, check out any of the tasty food selections, and let the kids roam around at the Children's Play Area. Many people enjoy the Red Robin, while Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar is a great spot to watch as game if the family is shopping away.

Seattle Premium Outlets

A mega shopping center in Tulalip, the Seattle Premium Outlets is set in the northern Seattle area. Plan on visiting the Seattle Premium Outlets and nab yourself top deals on designer clothes and wares – just west of Interstate 5 on 105th Street.

Holiday visitors to the Mount Vernon area often make their way to SPO for last minute shopping deals, and the kids always love a sit on Santa's lap. In the spring, be sure to visit the Seattle Premium Outlets for the Easter Bunny Visit, a top event where the kids can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Spokane Valley Mall

Experience a Spokane Valley shopping spree on your next visit to eastern Washington. You'll find the Spokane Valley Mall just off of I-90 near the Spokane River.

A great place to spend an afternoon in Spokane, the Spokane Valley Mall proves to be just the spot to grab a new addition to your wardrobe, last minute gifts, and souvenirs for friends back home.

The Outlet Collection Seattle

Formerly the SuperMall of the Great Northwest, the Outlet Collection Seattle is an outlet mall set in Auburn in the Seattle area. Boasting nearly 150 outlet stores over 943,273 square feet of retail space, OCS is the largest indoor outlet mall in the Pacific Northwest. This Seattle outlet mall is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Stores include the Nike Factory Store, H&M, Michael Kors, J.Crew Factory, Brooks Brothers, and Banana Republic Factory – anchored by Bed, Bath & Beyond, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, and Old Navy.

The Outlet Collection also offers a variety of eateries from pretzels and coffee to the D'Lara Mediterranean Grill. OCS even hosts special events like Fashion Experiment, and offers shuttle services to the White River Amphitheatre.
