Lincoln is the home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers teams from the University of Nebraska, so check team schedules. The football team plays at Memorial Stadium and has won five national titles. Basketball games take place at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Check out the city's professional baseball team, the Lincoln Saltdogs, too.
Get active for yourself at the city's 1,500-acre Wilderness Park. There are miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding through the woods. Another great outdoors location is the Botanical Garden and Arboretum at the University of Nebraska. If the whole family's come with you, visit the Lincoln Children's Museum and the Lincoln Children's Zoo and give your kids hands-on fun. Take them to the Mueller Planetarium for a journey to the stars.
Slow down to check out the exhibits at the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed. Other museums to explore in town include the Nebraska History Museum, the Frank H. Woods Telephone Museum, and the Larsen Tractor Museum.
There's plenty of entertainment at venues in town. Clubs like Duffy's Tavern and Zoo Bar are known for their live music. Bigger venues like Lied Center for Performing Arts offer a variety of performances, and there are several theaters in the historic Haymarket District.
