Grand Mesa National Forest
Encompassing over 346,000 acres, the Grand Mesa National Forest includes most of Grand Mesa and a portion of Battlement Mesa. Grand Mesa is world's largest flat-top mesa, measuring approximately 500 square miles. The highest elevation on the mesa is at Crater Peak, reaching 11,333 feet.
Located along the western slope of the Rocky Mountains in southern Colorado, the forest offers an abundance of recreational activities including, camping, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and even alpine skiing at Powderhorn Resort.
