Pikes Peak
A top destination for outdoor enthusiasts traveling through the Denver area, Pikes Peak stretches to a max height of 14,115 feet.
Because of it's massive height, it's known as one of the 54 "fourteeners" in Colorado – mountains taller than 14,000 feet. You'll find Pikes Peak west of downtown Colorado Springs.
Originally named El Capitan, the name was changed to Pikes Peak by Zebulon Pike, Jr. who found mountain in 1806.
You'll find much to do within Pikes Peak – explore the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, enjoy a trip through the Cave of the Winds, or hit the waters of Echo Canyon River Expeditions.
