Wind Farms in Montana
Montana’s Wind Farms Are Leading A Clean Power Revolution
That wind in your face is also the future of clean power in the United States.
Montana’s big skies and wide open spaces provide plenty of habitat for stable, year-round winds which are harnessed into producing electricity. Two wind farms in the Treasure State are leading this American revolution.
Glacier Wind Farm
In service since 2008, Glacier Wind Farm is part the growing wind power initiative taking place in northern Montana. The wind farm is one of four NaturEner Wind Farms located throughout Glacier and Toole Counties – in-between Shelby and Cut Bank.
U.S. Highway 2 travelers will find it hard to miss the 25,000-acre farm, housing 140 towering wind turbines from the road. In fact, the turbines frequently become the subject of many traveling snap shots and family photos.
Rim Rock Farm
In service since 2012, Rim Rock Farm is part the growing wind power initiative taking place in northern Montana. The wind farm is one of four NaturEner Wind Farms located throughout Glacier and Toole Counties – this one just north of Shelby.
Interstate 15 travelers will find it hard to miss the 21,000-acre farm, housing 140 towering wind turbines from the road. In fact, the turbines frequently become the subject of many traveling snap shots and family photos.
