There’s always something fun going on in Montana – come join in the festivities!
Cowboy culture lives on at the state’s rodeos. There is a vibrant pro rodeo circuit, plus almost every town in the state has an amateur or semi-pro event at least once a summer. Major events include the Livingston Roundup, the Wild West Yellowstone Rodeo in West Yellowstone, the Bozeman Stampede Rodeo, and the Red Lodge Rodeo, which is held in the shadow of the Beartooth Mountains.
Ever heard of skijoring? Descended from Scandinavian traditions, skijoring is a race where a horse pulls a skier through a course with gates, jumps, and rings – it’s action packed and exciting! You can see skijoring events in Kalispell, Red Lodge, and Whitefish – but the most famous is in tiny Wisdom.
High-altitude Butte has been called the “most Irish place in the U.S.” and its St. Patrick’s Day party is legendary.
