Discover The Sandstone Formations Of Arches National Park
When you hear the name “Arches National Park” undoubtedly the image that comes to mind is the impressive sandstone Delicate Arch. It, along with more than 2,000 stunning desert arches and other formations, can be found at this legendary park near Moab and Arches, Utah.
Among “The Mighty Five,” Arches National Park is open 24/7 throughout the year. All you need to do is decide the best way for you to explore the vibrant red rocks of the Park. You can try the 18-mile scenic drive (or bike ride) that will wind you through viewpoints like Delicate Arch and Windows Section. Hikers have numerous trail options, including the 3.4-mile Tower Arch trail, the easy Courthouse Towers trail, and the Delicate Arch trek. Don’t miss family-friendly attractions like the Courthouse Wash Rock Art Panel, the maze at Fiery Furnace or Balanced Rock.
Adventurers can try canyoneering in the Fiery Furnace, in the Petrified Dunes and the Great Wall, among many other routes. Horseback riding, rock climbing, and cycling are also popular options. Guided tours are available, and if you are visiting March through October, the Ranger-led three-hour tour of the Fiery Furnace sandstone formations is a “must.”
