Government Buildings in Oklahoma
When visiting the Sooner State, pay a visit to some of the local government buildings and sites. Located in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma State Capitol Complex is comprised of the State Capital Building, The Oklahoma Veterans Memorial, Oklahoma History Center, the Oklahoma Governor's Mansion and State Capitol Park. Home to Oklahoma Legislature and noted for its working oil wells sprinkled on the manicured grounds, the State Capital Building built in 1917, was deemed a National Historic Landmark offering weekday tours for a glimpse inside. The Oklahoma Veterans Memorial is located on property outside the north side of the capitol complex. The Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building was a United States federal government complex in downtown Oklahoma City before the tragic bombing on April 19, 1995. The Oklahoma City National Memorial now stands on its grounds as a remembrance to those who passed and were affected by the unfortunate incident in history.
