Arkansas Gardens

Gardens bloom through the year thanks to Arkansas’ temperate climate. Stroll through lush landscapes of flowers, fruit trees, and heirloom vegetables in gardens throughout the state. Linger in the Butterfly House at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, which is located between Fayetteville and Springdale. Stroll through 12 themed gardens spread over 40 acres, and enjoy fun-filled special events on the plaza and great lawn.

Heritage plants grow in the Ozark Folk Center State Park Garden, including heirloom vegetables, Mediterranean herbs, and fruit trees. You’ll also see plants used by mountain folk to make essential oils, dyes, and textiles. Smell the sweet fragrance of more than 1,500 rose bushes at the State Capitol Rose Garden in Little Rock. Roses, flowers, and the lavish greenery of Arkansas’ gardens will enhance your experience in the Natural State.

Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Opened in 2007, the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is a beautiful, 40-acre botanical garden located in the northern Arkansas city of Springdale, minutes from Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas. The garden is set within Lake Fayetteville Park.

Some highlights include the Carl A. Totemeier Horticulture Center, the 12 themed gardens, and the butterfly house. Plan your visit accordingly – the garden hosts several regular events, including Fitness in the Garden, Art and Cocktails in the Garden, and the Firefly Fling.

South Arkansas Arboretum State Park

Take walk in the woodlands at the South Arkansas Arboretum in El Dorado. Trails in this 12-acre state park pass by exotic plants, native species, and a tranquil pavilion. Tulips cover the landscape in early spring at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, which covers an entire peninsula at Lake Hamilton. The botanical gardens bloom throughout the year with daffodils, azaleas, rhododendrons, and hyacinths.
