Top Water Parks in Florida

Everyone loves a good waterpark, and there's no better way to cool off in the Sunshine State. While in Orlando, visit two of Disney's water-themed parks for the ultimate splash in Florida.  If you have been to other Disney parks, then you should know they mean business.

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is set in a frosty ski resort—complete with a functioning Chair Lift.  This action-packed water wonderland is filled with windy and steep waterslides and a diverse flurry of attractions including thrill rides; chill rides, family-style raft rides, kid-friendly areas, and plenty of cool lounges for the grownups. You'll find all of your favorite Disney characters there, including Elsa from Frozen.

Escape to a tropical paradise at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, where you'll discover a treasure of fun rides and attractions under the sun. Take a relaxing journey as you drift down Castaway Creek, splash the day away at a children's splash pad, go for a swim in the massive Surf Pool with 6-foot waves, or brave the Shark Reef and snorkel with real sharks and colorful fish.

Wet 'n Wild Orlando

Opened in 1977, Wet 'n Wild Orlando is a premier spring and summer destination for Orlando and Orlando area travelers. Widely considered to be America's first water park, Wet 'n Wild Orlando was founded by SeaWorld creator George Millay. While Wet 'n Wild Orlando is open year-round, the park sees a high volume of traffic during the summer months.

As you plan your all-day aquatic adventure at Wet 'n Wild Orlando, make plans to visit some of the top highlights at the park. Check out the Disco H20, The Wake Zone, Wave Pool Surf Lagoon, and the always popular Lazy River. The Brain Wash is an enclosed tornado water slide. The Behemoth Bowl is a lot of fun and was added in 2005.

Sun Splash Family Waterpark

Open March to September, the Sun Splash Family Waterpark is set on the southwest Florida Gulf Coast – just west of Fort Myers. Located in Cape Coral, Sun Splash is a municipal water park covering 14 acres.

Sun Splash Family Waterpark features water rides like the Electric Slide, Cape Fear, and Zoom Flumes, plus family pools and kiddie areas. Onsite eateries include the Calypso Café, while souvenirs are found at the Treasure Trove Gift Shop.

Sun-N-Fun Lagoon Waterpark

Located just off the I-75, the Sun-N-Fun Lagoon offers water park fun for all Naples and Florida Gulf Coast visitors. Explore five water slides, the Sunny's River lazy river, the Turtle Cove kids' area, and the Dolphin Dive and Lap Pool. Ample concessions are also available.

Be sure to bring your own towel and put on plenty of sunscreen. Enjoy the park's lounges and chairs and don't forget to keep your entrance wrist band for continuous in and out access. The park is open from President's Day Weekend to October and is usually open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
