Visit the Home of America’s Space Program
The home of space flight in America is the Kennedy Space Center, and you can visit this iconic site to learn more about the history and future of space.
The Kennedy Space Center is on Merritt Island and not far from Orlando. It’s just inland from the Atlantic and adjacent to the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. There’s tons to explore here!
Start your day at the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, which regularly inducts veteran astronauts. Here, you can learn about the legends of space flight through interactive kiosks.
Bus tours take you behind the gates of the space center – you can visit launch sites and working spaceflight facilities. See the launch operations center and ride a bus to Cape Canaveral. Other tours take you to the Vehicle Assembly Building.
Learn about the race to the moon at the Apollo/Saturn V Center and explore the days that led to the first launches and the landings that followed. Tours stop at the Firing Room and the Lunar Theater, and let you see the Apollo Treasures Gallery.
If you’re interested in space flight, this is the best place in the world to be!
