Perdido Key
Spanish for “lost island,” Perdido Key is a scenic community southwest of Pensacola and accessible via Highway 292. The highly-rated beaches also feature Perdido Key State Park, Big Lagoon State Park, and Johnson Beach at Gulf Islands National Seashore.
Perdido Key is also home to the legendary Flora-Bama bar, which lies along the state line right on the Gulf shore. This establishment holds many stories, a few stages for musicians, and a series of unique celebrations like a Martini Festival, an Interstate Mullet Toss, and the Frank Brown International Songwriters' Festival – which is kind of a big deal.
